The three Swiss musicians have been known for quite some time and have been gathering a substantial fan base around them. The band was formed in 2013 and has made a name for itself with a unique blend of hard riffs, psychedelic soundscapes, and driving rhythms. Within the growing fan community, the demand for an album became increasingly louder. Shaped by influences from blues, stoner, and psychedelic rock, as well as elements of progressive and post-rock, Oakhead‘s intense sound first emerged in 2015. The musical presentation intentionally forgoes vocals, which would be entirely unnecessary for this musical style. The music speaks for itself -songs that are slow or fast, excessively loud, marked by long psychedelic guitar solos that swiftly envelop the listener, making them forget both space and time. The album‘s title, X.O., allows for various interpretations. Among them, XO describes the blending of cognacs where the youngest eaux-de-vie are aged for at least 10 years in oak barrels. Similarly, it took as long to complete this album. All the songs were crafted over time and composed by all three members of Oakhead. The album X.O. will be released as a double vinyl but will also be available on CD and on all streaming platforms
