The winding duo Hanna Östergren/Jerry Johansson steps out of the deep forests and weaves together music that both expands and psychedelicises. Over the years, Jerry Johansson has travelled deeper and deeper into the magical sound worlds of the sitar, banjo and many other string instruments. He has been the heart of Grovjobb for several years, led jazz ensembles, composed music and kept an open mind. Musicians such as Ananda Shankar, Sandy Bull and Gabor Szabo have previously travelled similar paths. Hanna Östergren's journey has been different, but related. She has travelled through the outer reaches of perception with Hills, Laughing Eye, Träden and DJINN, among others. Rooted in expansive, trance-like compositions, where the structure of raga shapes the path of the music, the LP Relaxed winds its way towards the light. If you listen with an open mind you can hear echoes of the music of Charlie & Esdor and Joakim Skogsberg. As in a dream, different themes move in their own orbits at the centre of concentration, weaving together, shifting, changing shape, resonating on. And again, as in a dream, time and space are dissolved.
