14 years since its release on Nowhere Street Music, Drug Free Youth’s “The Avocado Index” gets the restoration treat. Remastered and with a new artwork, this stone-cold DIY classic is due out on February 27th on Sound Effect Records, in 2 different vinyl editions, classic black and Coke Bottle Green/Grimace Purple Splatter vinyl.

Drawing from the great late-60s psych canon and early-80s bedroom experimentation, Drug Free Youth merge garage-psych and baroque-pop to kraut-rock and post-punk, in a near-revelatory beast, familiar but hard to tame at the same time. Barrett-esque psychedelia, acid-punk, a touch of Italian soundtracks and a generous dose of bedroom ambience make-up for a unique underground travelogue, now sounding more contemporary than ever.
