Dynamics, diverse sounds and plenty of oomph: that's what Niels Hoffmann, Alex Fedorov and Johannes Rosswog are all about. They have already released two albums and now ENERGIE is their third release. EINSEINSEINS are as modern as they are rooted in tradition. The sound interprets Krautrock as well as elements of punk and art rock. The band from Berlin and Würzburg, whose genes seem to carry much of the past, gets to the heart of the matter with ENERGIE. We think of Trans Am, for example: those glamorous rock riffs, those vocoder voices, those vintage keyboard sounds. Some things sound like Kraftwerk, others like Can, Neu!, Hawkwind, Stereolab or the synth-pop of the eighties. Then there are the complex, shifted structures of free jazz music and a bit of punk, like Black Flag or Hüsker Dü once did. A congenial, varied album.
