"Musique Bizarre" is the eleventh album by the experimental sound duo SOUNDS OF NEW SOMA. The concept is a double LP in which various musicians from Tonzonen label bands play a role. A collaboration in which musicians/bands provide the duo with sound files that are recorded for this concept. The musicians were completely free to decide what would ultimately be made available to the duo. The duo processed the resulting fragments in their Helmtown studio. Ideas for the sound files were developed and recorded. A process that took several months. The result is a special cosmos of sound ranging from catchy songs to elusive, free pieces. The electronic part familiar from SOUNDS OF NEW SOMA plays a major role, as does the classical instrumentation of rock and jazz music. The album was mixed at Helmtown Studio and mastered once again by Eroc (Grobschnitt). The deliberately minimalist cover artwork is complemented by the multi-layered, colorful illustration on the inside, which perfectly matches the theme of the album. The artist Gerry Carnelly created the artwork especially for "Musique Bizarre". The band has created a total of 120 pictures for the album on special A4 sheets with acrylic paint. Some of them are also offered for sale.
