We lost our mojo for a while and weren’t really sure what kind of music we wanted to make. Then we dug up an old demo from 2018 (a pretty rough one), and thought, that riff’s actually kind of cool — super basic, but it had something. That ended up becoming Resonator. It lit the fire again. We wanted to get back to making big, dumb stoner riffs — but this time around, we were a bit older and hopefully a bit wiser, so we focused more on writing better songs and, for once, actually thinking about vocal melodies. After that, everything else came together pretty naturally. As for the recording process, we did the whole thing completely in-house. Our good mate Rick Steward produced and recorded it all at our bass player’s place. We didn’t use any distortion or fuzz pedals — just straight into the amp, cranked. Simple but effective. It was mixed by the wizard Brent Quirk and mastered by Brad Boatright
