Julien Ribot is a multi-faceted artist: composer, author, visual artist, film director and painter whose world lies at the edge of pop music, experimental animated film and contemporary art. For a few years now, Julien Ribot has been seeking new artistic formats and is moving towards the creation of large-scale performances which he calls “Films-Experiences” projected on gigantic outdoor building facades, and mixing animated film and music performed live, for example for the "Nuits Blanches" in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art in Nice, or at the Villa Medici in Rome Currently, Julien is co-writing his first feature film with award-winning screenwriter Bahareh Azimi, and composing the music for Joanna Grudzinska's next film. Julien Ribot's new album “Do You Feel 9? ”Will be released on October 29, 2021. This new pop-psychedelic opus evokes the initiatory journey of the imaginary character of Neon Juju. The experimental guitars of the cult English guitarist Fred Frith rub shoulders with the melancholic flute of the Finnish genius Jimi Tenor (on Annabelle - part. I). Dissonant brass, Debussian pianos, wild children's choirs, elegant and powerful drums, play on words filled with symbols: these are but a few of the facets of Julien Ribot's brilliant and astonishing new opus. A masterpiece !
