A reissue of a 1963 album by altoist Art Pepper, originally released when he was serving a long prison sentence due to his addiction to heroin. Assisted by pianist Dolo Coker, bassist Jimmy Bond and drummer Frank Butler, on these recordings Pepper started to showcase influences of John Coltrane and Ornette Coleman. Numbered edition of 500 copies.
